living life for god
Living life for God is synonymous with loving God wholeheartedly. The tie that binds us to him and makes us strive to live a life pleasing to him is love. John 3:16 says ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’ This never-ending, never-changing, eternal love of God enriches, satisfies, and exuberates us; and inspires us to live a life for him.
How can we ever match up to his love? Jesus instructs in Matthew 22:37, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the kind of devotion God expects from us. Our earthly body serves as a temple for God, a tabernacle he loves to reside in. The apostle Paul, in Romans 12:1, urges us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice because this is pleasing to God. We are called to seek the things which are of above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, and not the things which are of earth. Colossians 3:1-6 commands us to put to death everything that is earthly in nature. For God has promised us a spiritual inheritance and we have been raised in Jesus.
Finally, it is written in Philippians 4:8 that we are to live a life which honours and glorifies God. To think of things which are true, which are honourable, which are commendable, which are of excellence and worthy of praise. May his everlasting love be reflected through our lives and may we be a channel of blessing to many.
